The Zaffran team is renowned for making guests feel extraordinarily special and welcome – as well as for their depth of knowledge about Indian cuisine. Our dishes are derived from traditional Moghul cuisine where bread, fish, meat and game are cooked in the authentic tandoor oven style of North West India. In addition to conventional and established favourites, our chef regularly devises new and seasonal dishes to keep updated menus innovative and modern.
Using traditional recipes – some of them handed down through the family for generations – the team at Zaffran pride themselves on the menu and quality of food.
You’ll find all of the dishes you would usually associate with an Indian restaurant, plus a wide selection of dishes you may be trying for the first time.
The chef’s specials are a particularly good place to start looking for some culinary inspiration, featuring all kinds of delights that are sure to tickle your tastebuds.
Zaffran offers fantastic value for money, too, with a Special Four Course Menu* one of the best options. Served Sunday to Thursday – diners can enjoy a poppadom and pickle tray, starter, main course and tea or coffee for just £11.95 per person.
The chefs use only the finest spices and produce, with a selection of meat and good seafood providing many of the options on the menu, although there is a good vegetarian section, too.
As for the interior, it is a subtle blend of cultures that is sure to delight each and every visitor.
“We’ve done our best to keep the interior traditionally Indian, but with a modern twist,” comments Ash, Manager at Zaffran.
“We’ve stayed clear of the really modern touches and lighting, but we think it’s still a really pleasant experience when you dine at Zaffran.”
The proof has been in the pudding so far, with the restaurant seeing strong numbers of customers through its doors since it opened. There’s been a real mix of customers, too, with everybody from large families dining out together to couples sharing a more intimate meal.
There is also a takeaway service available, which enjoys a separate menu of its own. The dishes are largely the same as those on offer in the restaurant, but with reduced prices. A three-course takeaway menu* is also available from Sunday to Thursday priced at £9.95 per person.
